Taiwan November 2011
Last winter, I went back to Taiwan to see my grandmother for the last time. It was a bitter sweet trip, but the most memorable one I've had in Taiwan. I feel so deeply the wisdom and strength this family proves to have time and time again. I am so fortunate to have this rich culture, loving family, and these experiences to keep with me forever. I never thought I could understand what life through death meant. I know my grandparents rest together peacefully.
I feel such a close bond whenever I think about Taiwan. I hope I have the chance to spend more than a few weeks there at a time. Let's hope I pass my TESL classes... Here's a smattering of photos from my trip! Enjoy :)

MR. SUN: 1 --- STEAK: 0
My dad, Mr. David Sun, is absolutely and completely obsessed with BBQ'ing. I don't know why or exactly how long this has been going on, but it's serious. If the sun so much as peaks out... meats should run for cover. This is for you, little scallops, Costco hot dogs, and slabs of cow-- who have fallen victim to my dad's BBQ and our appetite. Don't worry for you have not left this world in vain. The flamingo toothpicks are thanks to my wonderful step mom, May. She always finds random cute things! We've also got stack-able cow mixing bowls (my personal favorite).

Good Eats! & Maurice (Kai's Bistro)
Hi All!
If you guys know me, you probably know that I bar tended here at Kai's Bistro and Lounge on University Ave during my senior year of college. This is my personal favorite from Kai's, the Crying Tiger Wrap (it's filled with Crying Tiger--beef skewers). Sadly, it is no longer on the menu, but you can still ask for it if!
And you know what else? Maurice always knows what's up. Just look at that smile :) He may be from Salvador, but he's damn good in the fusion foods business.
See you soonDaisy
